Motion Acquires Buffalo Electrical, Automation Company

Motion has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Allied Circuits, an electrical and automation product manufacturer based in Buffalo, New York. This acquisition will see Allied Circuits integrated into Motion’s Automation Intelligence (Ai) division, enhancing the segment’s operations in the mid-Atlantic region.

Allied Circuits, known for producing control panels, electro-mechanical assemblies, and robotic automation and integrated solutions, serves a diverse range of industries including automotive, aerospace, fluid systems, and oil and gas. The company primarily serves customers in western and Upstate New York, as well as Ontario.

Chris Scinta, a partner at Allied Circuits, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the alignment in business culture and core values between the two companies. He noted that the merger would provide customers with expanded access to products and services, leveraging Motion’s industry leadership and resources.

James Howe, President of Motion, emphasized the benefits of combining their engineering teams to meet the growing automation needs of their customers. The acquisition will add over 20,000 square feet of production space to the Motion Ai division, bringing its total to more than 100,000 square feet and increasing the workforce to about 150 employees.

The deal is expected to close by the end of the month, pending customary closing conditions. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
